Happy Autumn! This is my favorite time of the year, when the trees change colors, weather is breezy, and all the fall flavors are back. This Salted Maple Latte will give you all the cozy feelings of the season!
All you need to make this maple latte is a double shot of espresso (instant works amazing here too), maple syrup or maple butter, a pinch of sea salt, milk of choice, and a milk frother.
The real key to making this latte stand out is a generous pinch of flaky sea salt. It is the biggest game changer. To my understanding, it is an old tradition in some countries to add a bit of salt to your coffee. The idea is to suppress bitterness which leads to a smoother brew. It totally works. I never make a latte without adding a pinch of salt!
If you’re feeling fancy, you can make your own cinnamon maple cold foam as well! I use heavy cream, milk, cinnamon, vanilla bean paste, and maple syrup to make the cold foam. It really heightens the maple flavor and the vanilla and cinnamon pair together with maple so well!
Every day I wake up and run to my Smeg espresso machine. If you are looking for an easy, beginner espresso machine that is also really cute, I really recommend checking out this one! We’ve had it for about a year and it has really held up to the test of time. I can’t rave about it enough.
If you’ve seen maple lattes trending on social media, there is a very good reason why. It is perfection. If you can find maple butter I definitely recommend trying it this way. Maple syrup works just as well though.
When I say I dream about this latte…
