  • Cake-
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¾ cup peanut oil
  • ½ cup applesauce
  • 3 eggs, beaten

  • 3½ cups apples (peeled, cored, and chopped into bite-size pieces)
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • Glaze-
  • 1¼ cups light brown sugar, packed

  • 1 tsp vanilla
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 13x9 inch pan and set aside.

  3. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean.
  4. To make the glaze, heat a saucepan on medium and combine brown sugar, milk and butter. Bring to a boil and continue cooking for 2½ minutes, stirring constantly. Turn off heat, then stir in vanilla. Pour over cake while still hot.
