Ty Porter has always been irresistible to Celia Park. All through high school–irresistible. When their paths cross again after college–still irresistible.

This time, though, Ty seems to feel exactly the same way about Celia. Their whirlwind romance deposits them at a street-corner Las Vegas wedding chapel. The next morning they wake to a marriage certificate and a dose of cold reality. Celia’s ready to be Ty’s wife, but Ty’s not ready to be her husband. He’s a professional bull rider, he lives on the road, and he’s long planned to settle down with the hometown girl he’s known since childhood. Five and a half years pass. Celia’s buried her dreams so that she can afford to raise her daughter. Ty’s achieved all of his goals. Or thought he had, until he looks again into the eyes of the woman he couldn’t forget and into the face of the child he never knew he had. How much will Ty sacrifice to win back Celia’s trust and prove to her that their spontaneous marriage can still become the love of a lifetime?

Review:

Celia Park fell in love with Ty Porter in high school, but things never quite worked out. Years later they meet again in Las Vegas and a whirlwind romance ensues. They end up getting married their last night in Vegas, but the next day the cold reality of what they’ve done comes crashing down and they part ways. Five years later, Ty is a famous bull rider and Celia is struggling to raise their daughter on her own. When Ty happens upon Celia with four-year-old Addie, he finds himself looking into the eyes of the daughter he never knew he had. A story of love, forgiveness, and God’s perfect plan, Meant to Be Mine is a book that should be on your keeper shelf.

Where do I start? I adored this book. It was hilariously funny, heartwarming, and too cute! I loved Celia, Ty, and Addie. Not to mention the positively funny Uncle Danny and the whole Porter family. I laughed, I cried. It made me smile countless times. It’s one of those books that will just make you happy. The characters were just too adorable! The dialogue between Ty and Celia kept me smiling and laughing for the entire book. I love how the author vividly described all the characters—I felt as though I could see Ty, Celia, and Addie. Like a movie playing out in your head. And then there was the romance! Celia and Ty were just perfect together. Frustrating, feisty, and basically like a train wreck—but perfect. They had so much chemistry—which is sometimes hard to imagine when you’re reading a book.

At the heart of this story was forgiveness, faith, and God’s perfect plan. The decision to let go is not an easy one, and Becky Wade portrayed the struggle flawlessly through her characters. I also loved how it showed that God’s plan is always better than ours. Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith. The endearing characters, Texan setting, uplifting story, exciting romance, and witty dialogues in Meant to Be Mine made it the perfect summer read. If you love a good romance that will make you laugh and teach you some things along the way, read this book! I will only be too happy to revisit this beautiful story over and over again.

Ahh! Happy you liked this book also, Bekah. I’m reading this one in-between the books that have a review deadline and am adoring it also. Becky has remained one of my very favorite contemporary authors since reading My Stubborn Heart and I’m eager to see what she has planned next. 🙂
