Watermelon Cake

May 26, 2014 by Bekah Leave a Comment

Happy Memorial Day, everyone! Hope everyone is having a fantastic day.

Anyone ever heard of a watermelon cake?

Basically it’s a watermelon strategically cut to look like a cake. It’s fun. It’s cute. It’s healthy. It’s fruit. It’s summer!!

Check out this adorable watermelon cake my sister Natasha made for us. My grandparent’s 46th anniversary was also this weekend, so she made this “cake” for when they came over. Isn’t it so cute?! Thanks, Tasha!

Watermelon Cake

Ingredients

1 large watermelon
1 musk melon or cantaloupe
Raspberries
Strawberries
Blackberries
Green grapes *

Directions

Remove the top and bottom from the watermelon and remove the rind from the middle section. You should be left with a cake-shaped piece of watermelon.

Cut your fruit using a melon ball scoop or pretty knife cuts. Get creative! You can use a toothpick to attach fruit to the sides.

*This recipe is obviously super versatile. You can use whatever fruit you want…kiwis, pineapple, berries, etc. I just wrote the fruits we used!

Enjoy!
