Description:
Time matters very little when you’re dead. Christina discovered this intriguing fact after being tortured and stabbed to a tree in the strange land of Meric. A place where she experienced the most amazing journey anyone could have ever imagined.
Now that she’s dead, she finds herself stuck in the past, 1991 to be exact. She’s reliving some horribly awkward teenage memories. This adventure through time is almost like that awful dream where you’re stuck back in high school, giving a speech, completely naked. Although, luckily for Christina, she has clothes.
Maybe it is just a dream. Christina doesn’t know for sure, but there is one thing she desperately needs to find out. Will she ever get back to Meric… get back to Shaw?
Rating: ✰✰✰✰✰ (5 out of 5 stars)
Wow, this series just keeps getting better and better. I could barely concentrate on anything else because my mind kept wandering back to Meric! It’s a rarity when a story can truly transport your imagination to another place and this series certainly does that. What can I say? I’m officially hooked.
It’s hard to talk about this book without getting into any specifics— mainly because it’s a sequel. I definitely don’t want to give away any spoilers so I’ll just try and stick to the general things I loved about it. Resurrection was everything you could hope for in a sequel. It gave resolution to the cliffhanger at the end of book one, continued (if not increased) interest in the characters and setting, and kept everything you loved about book one prevalent! The character development was impressive— I felt as if I was getting to know Christina better with every page. I also loved all the exciting plot twists and turns that kept me turning the pages like a crazy person. Another one of the aspects of this book I particularly enjoyed was the Biblical mirrors scattered throughout the book. I had such fun recognizing the re-imaginings of Daniel in the Lion’s Den, Esther, King David and Bathsheba, and more! Of course, Resurrection ended with another cliffhanger, effectively making readers dying to get their hands on the next installment.
Resurrection was an amazing sequel to an amazing book. If you’re a fan of fantasy, action/adventure, romance, or speculative fiction you will LOVE this series. The Future Savior books are definitely some of my new favorites and I just can’t wait to read more and more about Christina, Shaw, and the magical land of Meric! Book three, here I come.
**I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are completely my own.
