Trailer Tuesday

July 15, 2014 by Bekah 2 Comments

Hey ya’ll!
I recently started a summer internship so I’ve been busier than usual and didn’t post a Trailer Tuesday last week. *smacks forehead*
Thank goodness for scheduled posts. I’d be lost without it. Any other bloggers feel the same?
My mom, dad, little sister, and I do a movie night thing every couple of weeks. Last weeks movie was Transformers 4! Does anyone else think that 2 hours and 45 minutes is too long for a robot movie? Cause I do. And that’s how long it was.
2. hours. and. 45. minutes.

Anyways, one of the trailers that was previewed was Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Now, I used to watch Planet of the Apes movies when I was little. And then I would wake up in the middle of the night screaming, “Apes! Apes! There’s apes under my bed!!” It wasn’t pretty. That trailer drudged up memories of old nightmares. *shiver* Definitely my least favorite trailer of the week.

Now onto the trailers I did like… ๐Ÿ˜‰

TV Show-
 CBS Scorpion
I’m a big fan of action/crime/cop shows. Really anything that’s exciting. This show’s premise is unique, but what really attracted me to it was Katherine McPhee. I’ve been a fan of her since Season 5 of American Idol! I knew she acted, but I haven’t seen her in anything yet. This show looks like it could be exciting, smart, and different! Coming this fall to CBS.
Movie-
Jupiter Ascending
Starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, this Stars Wars/John Carter-esque movie is set in the future and is about a young destitute woman being targeted by the Queen of the Universe and her journey to end the Queen’s reign. Remember the cutie British star Eddie Redmayne from Les Miserables? Yeah, well he stars in this movie too! As the villain. Couldn’t picture it until I saw the part in the trailer where he yells (1:05) and then I was like, “oh, yeah…that’ll work.” Lol! I have been interested in this movie since production stage, because they filmed in my old home town last summer! Can’t wait to see if I recognize anything. Only problem is, the movie release has been delayed seven months. I’ve already been waiting for a year, people! Premiere date is now February 6th, 2015. *sigh*
Book-
 The Chance by Karen Kingsbury
This book trailer literally made me tear up. Isn’t it beautiful?! I’ve never read anything from Karen Kingsbury, though I’ve heard only good things, but this trailer most definitely convinced me to give this one a shot! And isn’t the cover pretty, too? A short snippet about the book-
“The day before Ellie Tucker moved away from Savannah, Georgia, she and her best friend Nolan sat beneath the Spanish moss of an ancient oak tree where they wrote letters to each other and buried them in a rusty metal box. The plan was to return eleven years later, dig them up and read them. Now the date is approaching, but everything has changed except this: Their crazy desire for one last Chance.”
Sounds like a must read to me!

Thanks for reading and please leave a comment below!

Yes to ANYTHING with Channing Tatum in it. (Well, almost anything. I did draw the line at some of his recent R-rated roles. ;D) And I hadn’t really looked into Scorpion, I’ll have to now. If you like Katherine, check out the Hallmark Hall of Fame, In My Dreams. It’s a “unique” spin on the average romantic drama plus with Hallmark, we’re always guaranteed a nice night of entertainment. ๐Ÿ™‚

Haha, I would have to completely agree with you there. Other than the R rated films, I watch pretty much anything with Channing in it too! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I saw your movie review for In My Dreams on your blog and have been interested ever since! I keep on missing it when it comes on tv, though… I’ll have to record it to my DVR.

Thanks for stopping by, Rissi! ๐Ÿ™‚
