Trailer Tuesday

July 1, 2014 by Bekah 5 Comments

Hello there!

It’s Tuesday, which means I get to share with you some interesting book, movie, and TV show trailers I watched this week and hear what you all are looking forward to!

Speaking of movies, yesterday was my mom’s birthday and after a full day of cake, gift giving, exercising (so we could eat more cake) and various other activities we settled down in the evening to watch a movie. We couldn’t find a chick flick everyone could agree on so my mom ended up picking 3 Days to Kill, an action movie with Kevin Costner, Amber Heard, and Hailee Steinfeld. Have you seen it? It’s about a CIA agent who tries to reconnect with his family after he learns he’s dying. He agrees to one last assignment in exchange for an experimental drug that could save his life and thus the action begins. It was pretty good, except that it got interrupted when the tornado sirens started going off and we had to run to the basement! Let’s just say that this was a birthday my mom probably won’t forget. πŸ™‚

Ok, back to the trailers. Here are the TV show, movie, and book trailers I saw this week that I just can’t wait to see/read!

TV Show-
CBS Stalker
As soon as I saw this trailer I was immediately interested for two main reasons. 1) I love crime/cop shows and 2) I love Maggie Q. A show about “detectives who investigate stalking incidents for the Threat Assessment Unit of the LAPD“? I am so in. Airing October 1st.

Movie-
The Giver
I’ve said before how much I love book-to-movie adaptions, but this one is especially exciting for me. I read The Giver for school when I was younger, as I’m sure a lot of you have! It was my favorite, go-to read for a long time and every once in a while I’ll revisit it again. When I saw they were making a movie, I was ecstatic! Coming to theaters August 15th.

Book-
Unspoken by Dee Henderson
I love Dee Henderson’s suspenseful novels. She’s an amazing writer who always has me on the edge of my seat. When I watched this trailer it had me itching to read this book! In fact, I think this might be one of the best book trailers I’ve seen. Here’s a little excerpt of the description from the publisher’s website.
“Charlotte Graham is at the center of the most famous kidnapping in Chicago history. The task force of FBI and local cops found her two abductors, killed them, rescued her, but it took four very long years. The fact she was found less than three miles from her home, had been there the entire time, haunts them. She’s changed her identity, found a profession she loves, and rebuilt her life…”
Doesn’t it sound so good?!

Thanks for reading and please leave a comment below!

What do you think of these trailers? Have you seen any interesting ones this week? What’s the last movie you watched?

Yes, yes, yes to Stalker. It looks really interesting plus, I saw Dylan in a short lived TNT show called Dark Blue that I really liked. I’m on the fence (haven’t read the book) about The Giver although I suppose I’ll rent it. Thanks – again – for this fun series, Bekah. πŸ™‚

I watched the first episode of Dark Blue but didn’t continue as I was watching way too many tv shows at that time. It’s good to know that you liked it! I’ll probably revisit it when I have some free time this summer. πŸ™‚ I saw Dylan McDermott most recently in Hostages, another short lived but very interesting show.

I understand, The Giver isn’t for everyone–I know friends who have loved it and some who absolutely hated it!

      Thanks for reading, Rissi! πŸ™‚

Ooo! I’ve heard about Hostages but haven’t seen it. Perhaps I’ll have to look into it.

…and I know what you mean about too many shows. I’m right there with you. πŸ˜‰

Right?! I thought it was pretty impressive for a book trailer. Glad to hear you liked it too! Thanks for stopping by my blog, Laura! πŸ™‚
