Happy Thanksgiving, all!
Thanksgiving has to be one of my absolute favorite holidays. It’s a day when family and friends can enjoy each others company with good food, drink, and festivities. It’s a day where we can all take a moment to soak it in and just be thankful for life, love, family, friends, health, security and provision. It’s also the day when we create memories that make us laugh for days on end–like that crazy aunt’s dance moves or your dad’s turkey carving “skills.” *wink* Today I just wanted to wish you a happy turkey day as well as share a few things I am especially grateful for.
1. I am thankful for LOVE. In particular I am grateful for the greatest act of love ever made–when Jesus Christ laid down his life so we could live. I believe God is love and they are one and the same. And I am so thankful for every time I get to glimpse into that love through the eyes of family, friends, and strangers alike.
2. I am thankful for FAMILY. I am beyond blessed to have such a wonderful relationship with my family. My mom, dad, and three sisters (Natasha, Serena, and Mia) are all extraordinary and I am grateful for every moment we share together. And this includes my extended family!
3. I am thankful for my FRIENDS, both my “IRL” friends and my blogger buddies! My friends empathize, challenge, inspire, and support me–overall they make me a better person and I am blessed to know every one of them. The funnest part of my day is when I get to chat with all my lovely ladies. You know who you are!
4. Now that I have the “big” stuff up there, I want to add how thankful I am for those small, random, quiet, and beautiful MOMENTS that just make me incredibly happy. Like having lazy TV marathon days with my sisters, reading a good book, cracking jokes with my amazing grandparents, baking away the day, sipping a cool iced coffee on a gorgeous summer day, browsing for hours in a bookstore, shopping with friends, the smell of a bakery, blasting the music in the car, going on long bike rides with my mom, etc. Those are the moments that make up life and for that I am beyond grateful.
I am probably missing hundreds of things that I will kick myself for not mentioning later, but these are just a couple things that were in my heart today. Last but not least, I want to give a big thanks to all of YOU who visit my blog! I am so very thankful for every one of you and hope everyone is having a spectacular day!
I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! What is your favorite thing about this wonderful holiday and what are you most thankful for? Please comment below!
