Trailer Tuesday

August 12, 2014 by Bekah 4 Comments

Hello!

How is your week going so far? Any fun movies, books, or shows seen lately?

I haven’t done Trailer Tuesday in a while, but I love writing up these posts (they are just so fun!), sharing interesting new stuff with you, and reading what catches your eye.

Here goes!

TV Show-
TNT’s Legends

I noticed this trailer on tv recently and was immediately intrigued, probably because I’m always on the lookout for a good cop/crime show. Sean Bean stars as “a deep-cover operative named Martin Odum, who has an uncanny ability to transform himself into a different person for each job. But his own identity comes into question when a mysterious stranger suggests that Martin isn’t who he thinks he is.” Sounds like it has a Bourne vibe, right? Premieres tomorrow, August 13th on TNT.

Movie-
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1

AHHHHH! Who else was so excited they screamed when this trailer released? Please don’t say just me. Let me just say, these movies took me completely by surprise. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the books. But there were certain other dystopian book series I enjoyed a little better (*cough* divergent). The movie adaptions, however? The Hunger Games movie series has been spectacular and by far my favorite– the cast, cinematography, music, EVERYTHING. I am beyond excited to see how well they bring Mockingjay to life.

Book-
Thunder by Bonnie S. Calhoun

I am a big fan of young adult speculative fiction, as seen in my recent reviews for The Future Savior series :). So anytime a new christian speculative or dystopian series pops up I am usually interested. This one looks particularly intriguing and I will definitely be checking it out when it releases October 7th.

“In post-apocalyptic America, Selah Chavez is crouched in long grass on a shore littered with the rusted metal remnants of a once-great city. It is the day before her eighteenth Born Remembrance, and she is hunting, though many people refuse to eat animal flesh, tainted by radiation during the Time of Sorrows. What Selah’s really after are Landers, mysterious people from a land across the big water who survive the delirium-inducing passage in small boats that occasionally crash against the shoreline. She knows she should leave the capture to the men, but Landers bring a good price from the Company and are especially prized if they keep the markings they arrive with. Everything falls to pieces when the Lander Selah catches is stolen by her brothers — and Selah wakes up the next morning to find the Lander’s distinctive mark has suddenly appeared on her own flesh. Once the hunter, Selah is now one of the hunted, and she knows only one person who can help her — Bohdi Locke, the Lander her brothers hope to sell.”

Thanks so much for reading and please leave a comment below!

The only HG movie I’ve see was the first one, but I’ve read the books. I have a feeling that if I see “Mockingjay,” it’s going to be one of those movies where tears will be in abundance.

I’ve seen “Thunder,” but that book trailer has further piqued my interest. I hope it will be good! πŸ˜€

I want to see the last “Hobbit” film, “Into the Woods,” and the new “Left Behind” with Nicholas Cage. In 2015, there is supposed to be a live-action “Cinderella” from Disney, the next “Star Wars” film, and the long awaited sequel “Finding Dory.”

      Hi, Grace!!

Totally agree with you there. I’ll definitely be bringing tissues to the theater with me to see Mockingjay. I made the mistake of forgetting tissues when I went to see The Fault in Our Stars and never again will I do that. πŸ˜‰

Me too! I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

I’ve never seen any of the Lord of the Rings or Hobbit movies, but I am interested in checking them out. They look exciting! I am SO excited for Into the Woods and Cinderella too (fairytale fan haha). I’ve heard about the Nicholas Cage “Left Behind” movie and it’s definitely piqued my interest, though I’ve never seen the older movies. Ahhh! A fellow Star Wars fan? Yes! And high five to Finding Dory as well! I can safely say that Finding Nemo is my absolute favorite animated movie.

Thanks for commenting! It’s always fun to gush over book/movies with my fellow bloggers. πŸ˜€

You are NOT the only one excited about the new Mockingjay trailer. Thrilled that it was released because, yes, it looks pretty awesome. *crossing fingers* Let’s see, I’m excited about the promo for the new Disney flick Into the Woods and of course, anything book related. πŸ˜‰ On that note, Thunder looks fantastic.

Yay! It does look amazing. November, please come quickly! πŸ™‚

I was so excited to see your post on the Into the Woods promo. Again, I just love Chris Pine and Meryl Streep and fairytales so it looks like it could be epic. Haha

Doesn’t it?? I’m so excited to check out the series.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Rissi! πŸ˜€
