Best Books of 2016

December 30, 2016 by Bekah 8 Comments

Happy almost 2017, friends! Today marks the second to last day of another year. Which is crazy because it seems like just yesterday when we celebrated New Year’s last. But alas, time waits for no one. I’m just excited to have some bubbly and spend some time with my family tomorrow. What are your New Year’s Eve plans?

I’ve never done this before, but I figured now was a great time to start. I had to share what I thought were the best books of 2016, because there’s so many books that deserve recognition this year! I read an incredible amount of five star reads. Woohoo for the book community!

While there is most likely a great many I’m missing on this list, here are some of the most memorable, stick-with-you kind of books I’ve read in 2016. Each title has the link to my review, if applicable.

Best Books of 2016

1. The End of the World by Amy Matayo || A book that makes it on my all-time favorites list! Such a raw, beautiful story. If you haven’t already, you really must read it. Goodreads

2. Intermission by Serena Chase || Another stunning YA read! I adored this coming of age love story with a musical twist. Goodreads

3. Forever Doon by Carey Corp & Lorie Langdon || Ahhhhhh! Can’t believe this magical series ended this year. A little sad, a lot wonderful. #MacCraeisBae Goodreads

4. Gilt Hollow by Lorie Langdon || One of those delightful books that makes you want to cozy up in a big sweater with a cup of coffee and read all day long. Goodreads

5. Three Wishes by Lisa T. Bergren || When I read that Lisa was writing a spin-off River of Time series, I freaked. And it was everything I hoped for and more! Goodreads

6. Four Winds by Lisa T. Bergren || Such a perfect conclusion to this lovable duology. Who doesn’t want to read a story with love, family, and adventure?! (High five to those who understand that reference!) Goodreads

7. Unblemished by Sara Ella || I bought and read this book after reading Rissi’s review (from Finding Wonderland) and I am so glad I did – I LOVED it! So. darn. good. And may I say, quite the fine leading men. 😉 Goodreads

8. The Thirteenth Chance by Amy Matayo || Honestly, this author knows how to write stunning stories. I’m a sucker for a good romance and then to top it off the love interest is a baseball player! Oh, yes. Goodreads

9. Disillusioned by Christy Barritt || Fantastic romantic suspense read! Highly recommended. Goodreads

10. The Cautious Maiden by Dawn Crandall || Oooo, I do love a good period romance and this is definitely that. Perfect coffee shop read. Goodreads

11. The Red Door Inn by Liz Johnson || Another one I saw a lot of buzz about in the book community. One of those stories that sticks with you…seriously amazing. You could almost smell the salt water from the B&B, the setting was that vivid. Read if you’re a fan of contemporary romance! Goodreads

12. Her One and Only by Becky Wade || I’m a huge fan of all Becky Wade’s novels! Romance done right. It was hard to say goodbye to the Porter family though! Goodreads

13. Cold Shot by Dani Pettrey || Romantic suspense at it’s very best. That’s really all I need to say about this new series from a favorite author. Goodreads

14. Trust Me by Romily Bernard || The conclusion to an exciting trilogy, this did not disappoint. I still get all the feels when thinking back on this intriguing series! Goodreads

15. I’ll Be Yours by Jenny B. Jones || Jenny B. Jones has been one of my favorite authors since the age of 14. 7 years later, I still hang on to every word in her books. A lovable story to make you laugh and cry. Goodreads

16. Siren’s Song by Mary Weber || Ahhhhh! This trilogy wrecked me. And I loved it! I still turn into a blubbering fangirl every time I talk about this fantasy series. Probably always will. *tears* Goodreads

17. Holding Court by K.C. Held || I laughed so much reading this book! Witty, charming, and everything you could want in a YA. Goodreads

Is this really your first ‘best of’ list?? Aren’t they fun to put together?!?

Looks like we only have one in common this year, Becky Wade’s, although I did read and enjoy a few others on your list!

Yes, can you believe it?! What kind of book blogger am I. xD It was so fun to put together and I definitely will be making this a tradition. So many books deserve recognition!

Oh my gosh! These all look so good! I don’t know what to read first! X’D There are seriously sooo many books that I want to read that it’s overwhelming; so much so that I deleted most of them from my to-read list on goodreads just because it felt pressuring, haha! I hope the books you read this year are just as impressive! 🙂

Yes, they all were amazing IMO!

Oh, I can definitely understand being overwhelmed by all the choices! LOL, that’s something I would do. Except I think it’s too late for me to start deleting from my Goodreads list, since I’m pretty sure my TBR is in the hundreds. *groan*

I think 2017 is going to be a great year for books…then again, I do say that every year. 😉

      Thanks for coming by, Sarah!
