Month in Review: March 2017

March 31, 2017 by Bekah 6 Comments

Disclosure: Jane has provided me with the products in this post. All opinions are my own.

Hi guys! This month has passed us at a frightening speed, maybe because this was the first month here in Chicago where we had some actually warm days. A lot of exciting things happened. Let me define “exciting.” Personally, an “exciting” month includes books. A lot of books.

Favorites from March

Beauty & the Beast – I have gushed and gushed and gushed about this movie to my family and on social media! Had some great fangirl-filled discussion on Twitter with Rissi (@RissiJC), Cassie (@BooksandWindow5), and Courtney (@CameraCourt)! I’ve seen it twice and would watch it again. A+.

The Voice – I am obsessed with The Voice and have been watching since the first season. I am really loving this season because the coach lineup is PERFECT. The advisors for the Battle Rounds were also amazing. Does anyone have a favorite contestant? Jack Cassidy is mine right now.

Blake Shelton – Excuse me a moment while I have a minor fangirl moment…I SAW BLAKE SHELTON IN CONCERT!!!!! *waves hands frantically in the air* Thanks to my amazing sister, Serena, for the awesome birthday surprise. It was one of my favorite days, ever.

Jane – I get the cutest stuff from Jane, a boutique marketplace with daily deals. I have been using this daily deal site for years (my first purchase were these gorgeous watercolor earrings I still wear!) and recently got a bit of a haul. Included in my recent purchases was a Gilmore Girls coffee t-shirt (pictured above), a “Espresso Yourself” spoon (pictured above), and the cutest vintage booties. Highly recommend, gorgeous ladies!

Filming my first Youtube videos – Finally. My sister Mia and I filmed our very first Youtube videos. I’m not even sure if we will post them, since we haven’t even edited yet. I’m hoping soon. Videos filmed comprise of the Sister Tag and the Rip It or Ship It Tag. Fingers crossed that they will be published ASAP!

Books I Read

I read 12 books this month! I thought it’d been more, because for a week or so I was reading a book a day. When I tallied it up, it ended up only being 12. Still, I’m very happy I got to so many great reads this month.

Books I Bought/Received

I wasn’t supposed to buy any more books this month. All I can say now is, #FAIL. Still, there’s something to be said about having enough self-control not to buy your whole Amazon wish-list. 😉  I also received a couple review copies. Can’t wait to read all these beauties!

Most Popular Blog Posts

DOUBLE CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER GRANOLA BARS – My one recipe on the blog this month. Ugh! Meant to create many more, but happy that this was well received.

BOOK EMOJI TAG – Had such a blast writing this post. Thanks for the tag, Rissi!

REVIEW: RED QUEEN BY VICTORIA AVEYARD – I finally read this highly popular YA novel. Not my best review by far, I never actually planned on posting it on my blog. Glad I did now! Besides, there’s always review editing to be done.

Looking Forward…

Thirteen Reasons Why (book + Netflix original) – Today marks the release of the highly anticipated YA-to-screen adaption, Thirteen Reasons Why. Penned as “must-see” and “binge-worthy” I will definitely be watching. But first, to read the book!

Everything, Everything – Another book I am planning on reading this month, before the movie releases in May. I bought it and would’ve read it sooner if not for some review copies I had to get to first. So I lended it to my sister Serena, who practically cried with gratitude when she was finished. I think she finally trusts my book recommendations. 😉

The Evaporation of Sofi Snow – Mary Weber is one of my all-time favorite authors and a really sweet person! I will read anything she writes, which is why I’m so excited to dive into this book in April!

That’s it! My month in review. How was your March? Any exciting happenings to share? How about book recommendations? Comment below! Thanks so much for reading. ♥

Oh, yes! Me too! I think I may need to pull back on the caffeine soon actually. 😉 Yay! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Would love to hear your thoughts on it after you see it.

Haha, thanks Rissi! Yes! I am really excited about (potentially) joining the Booktube club! First, to figure out editing and posting and all that fun stuff. I also have to get “final approval” from Mia, too. 😉

Thanks! I’ve only heard incredible things, so I’m definitely excited. I m *so* excited for the movie (as you know) so I will be reading before it’s release. I’ll most likely “drag” my dad to go see it. Ha!

      Thanks again, girl! 🙂
